Position Summary:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an experienced Payroll professional to support and oversee the end-to-end processing of U.S. and Canada payrolls utilizing ADP GlobalView and Workday. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery while serving as a key resource for payroll analysis, system coordination, and employee support.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and execute weekly and biweekly payroll processing for U.S. and Canada employees using ADP GlobalView and Workday.
Ensure accurate compensation for new hires, terminations, salary changes, and other employee lifecycle events.
Process complex payroll transactions including commissions, bonuses, stock compensation, and other exception payments.
Coordinate, validate, and consolidate payroll input files for system uploads.
Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and compliance risks prior to payroll finalization.
Research and resolve employee payroll inquiries, providing clear and detailed responses in a timely manner.
Support audits, reporting requirements, and internal controls related to payroll processing.
Partner cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
Drive process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including U.S. and/or Canada payroll processing.
Hands-on experience with ADP GlobalView and Workday.
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC).
Experience managing payroll in a large, multi-state environment.
Experience supporting SOX controls or payroll audits.
