WSP USA Assistant Vice President Nuclear Quality Assurance Specialist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager. The chosen candidate can sit in any of our offices in the USA. The Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for verifying the status of implementation of the Nuclear QA Program. This role requires interaction with project staff, customers, and regulators. This is a senior level position in the NQA Group with the expectation that the candidate will manage lower-level personnel and grow the program through a combination of training, mentoring, and on the job experience. The candidate will work under the WSP USA Nuclear Quality Assurance Program.
Your Impact
Verifying the status of the implementation of the NQA Program
Developing and maintaining the Nuclear QA Manual (NQAM), Nuclear Quality Assurance Procedures (NQAP), Quality Directives (QD) and related quality procedures and forms
Verifying compliance with regulatory requirements and procedures through audits and quality reviews
Monitoring organization processes to ensure conformance to commitments
Assuring that vendors providing quality-affecting services or items meet the programmatic requirements
May act on behalf of junior NQA staff to perform QA surveillances, assessments, readiness reviews, and in reviewing documents controlling project technical and quality activities if needed
May approve individuals for appointment as Nuclear Chief Technical Leads, Nuclear Project Managers, and Nuclear Technical Leads for NQA projects. Maintains a list of approved Nuclear Project Managers and Nuclear Technical Leads for NQA projects
Participate in the order entry process to review and identify quality-related items/requirements and verify that customer specific quality and technical requirements are incorporated into the project
Perform evaluations of the NQA program adequacy
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a four-year professional or technical degree (in Quality, Engineering, or related Science)
Professional registration or certification preferred
Computer competency in Microsoft office and SharePoint
A minimum of ten years of professional experience
Five years of experience working on projects subject to nuclear quality assurance requirements with at least 3 years of experience in managing a 10CFR50 Appendix B / NQA-1 compliant quality assurance program
Ability to achieve NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification
Ability to foster a collaborative attitude with project staff while maintaining required independence of the NQM oversight role
Commitment to the principles and requirements of the WSP USA Nuclear Quality Assurance Program
Ability to work independently while meeting schedule and project commitments
Ability to understand and adhere to safety requirements
Analytical, problem solving skills and systematic thinking
Good personal interaction skills
Good speaking, writing and presentation skills
Good attention to detail
Travel is required for this position, but is not expected to exceed 30% of the time#LI-GD1
