Under the guidance and direction of the Assistant Director of Construction Technology in the Office of Architecture and Design, this professional coordinates, develops, designs, and budgets mechanical systems for renovation, alternation, and new construction projects and acts as the University’s representative for design related mechanical issues on larger construction projects being designed by independent engineering consultants. This position has statewide responsibilities, addressing a wide variety of academic, administrative, research, healthcare, and infrastructure projects. This position interfaces with a dynamic team of university technical staff including project management, maintenance, safety, controls, commissioning and utilities groups to ensure that mechanical designs are implemented properly from conception through final acceptance. This position is responsible for the content and interpretation of the mechanical design content included in the University Design Standards. This position provides guidance to the Project Manager. This position is responsible for reviewing, signing and sealing in house mechanical designs.
