EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Technician (Asbestos) in Piscataway, NJ. The technician supports the laboratory analysts by preparing samples for analysis.  No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Prepare environmental samples prior to analysis Air Sample Prep, Bulk Sample Prep, Dust, Water, SoilUtilization of balances, HEPA filtered fume hoods, filtration systems and muffle furnaces to prep samplesSupport all sample-related activities, including preservation, preparation, and disposalClean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory  equipment as neededOther responsibilities as deemed necessary by the managerRequirements:High School diploma or GED equivalentAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Some laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plusAbility to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisPhysical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25lbs and standing for various lengths of timeAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitudeEffective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal assistanceAvailable Shift: Position is full time, Monday to Friday 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Piscataway, NJ are encouraged to applyEMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay, flexible spending account. The pay rate for this position is $19.43 per hour. To find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled
