Event Programming Director (E6106) - 260105 : KNW-D70 Description Job Summary The Event Programming Director is the strategic lead for shaping IEEE’s highest-impact, speaker-driven events. This role defines the narrative vision, intellectual direction, and speaker strategy for select CEE programs, ensuring each convening elevates IEEE’s global voice and translates complex technical work into compelling, audience-centered experiences. Key Responsibilities - Set the programming vision and narrative arc for assigned IEEE events, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and audience relevance.
- Architect session formats and content frameworks that make advanced technical ideas accessible and engaging across live and recorded platforms.
- Build and maintain a curated, proactive rolodex of engaging, topical speakers from within IEEE and beyond, bringing ideas, connections, and tenacity to identify and secure high-value voices.
- Lead speaker preparation and development, including narrative shaping, content refinement, rehearsals, and presentation coaching.
- Build a scalable speaker-training program to elevate the delivery and storytelling capabilities of IEEE’s existing experts.
- Draft scripts, run-of-show documents, and other programming materials with exceptional written and oral communication skills adaptable across multiple mediums.
- Partner with production leadership to translate programming strategy into polished run-of-shows and seamless audience experiences.
- Provide on-site leadership for speaker management and real-time program adjustments.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 10 years in senior programming, content strategy, events, or media roles with international or cross-cultural experience.
- Proven success developing speaker-driven programming and shaping complex intellectual content into compelling experiences.
- Experience collaborating with production teams for high-impact live or recorded content.
