Job Title: Downstream Manufacturing Scientist / Associate
Location: Piscataway, NJ
Hours/Schedule: Day and Night Shift Available
Type: Contract to Direct Hire
Pay: Starting $31/hour (Based on experience)
Responsibilities:
Execute downstream purification processes at multiple scales in a cGMP environment
Pack columns, troubleshoot processes, and analyze data
Provide technical guidance for purification execution and development
Monitor process data and make real-time equipment or process adjustments
Ensure engineering and clinical batches are completed on time
Define equipment specifications and improve manufacturing processes
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve technical and equipment issues
Follow and lead compliance with GMP and environmental health & safety requirements
Support investigations and corrective actions for batch-related issues
Comply with all company policies and perform additional assigned duties
Requirments:
BS/MS in Chemical, Biological, or Biochemical Sciences
Associate: 0–3 years GMP biologics experience (internship/co-op acceptable)
Scientist: 4–5+ years biopharma manufacturing
GMP/aseptic required
Purification column expertise: BPG/AxiChrom, Exprime, AKTA Process Skids, TFF / UF-DF
GMP batch execution and documentation
Single-use systems (bags, tubing, columns)
