MnDOT's Phoenix Program offers student worker opportunities for high school students interested in engineering or other STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) careers. Phoenix Student Workers gain hands-on experience in various functional areas by working at MnDOT offices and districts statewide.

This posting will fill multiple vacancies for the Phoenix Program in locations including Duluth, Bemidji, Golden Valley, Mankato, Maplewood, Oakdale, Rochester, Roseville, St. Cloud, St. Paul, and Willmar. The position may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Students must be enrolled at a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) high school or participating in Achieve Twin Cities: Step Up or Right Track youth employment programs.
Completed junior year by June 2026 and entering senior year for the 2026–2027 school year.
3.0 or higher GPA
Submit the Phoenix Program supplemental form and an unofficial transcript.
