Longs Peak Dairy LLC Dairy Outside Employee in Pierce, Colorado
Responsible for performing a variety of hands-on tasks essential to the day-to-day operations of the dairy's outdoor facilities. Plays a key part in ensuring animal health, facility cleanliness, and operational efficiency in all outdoor areas of the dairy. Cleans and maintains corrals, pens, feed lanes, and water troughs. Operates heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, and tractors to move feed, manure, and bedding materials. Assists with sorting, moving, and transporting cattle between pens and barns. Ensures animals have access to clean water and are in appropriate pens according to health or production status. Performs general labor and assists other departments as needed during employee absences or peak times. Follows all safety protocols and animal welfare guidelines.
Six (6) months related experience as a Husbandry Caregiver or a related occupation. Experience is required and must include: Performing the daily care monitoring and treatment of hospital and fresh cows; Observing and walking pens to evaluate cattle; Moving cattle according to health protocols while understanding the flight zone; Fixing broken facilities that can cause harm to the animals; and Monitoring medicine and supply inventory.
