Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – AAC Focused
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite | School-Based
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM (School Calendar: August–May)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a strong interest in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to support students with developmental disabilities in an integrated, school-based environment.
This role emphasizes functional, real-world communication rather than traditional pull-out therapy. Communication support is embedded throughout the student day, including classrooms, vocational programming, outdoor learning, adapted physical education, and recreational activities. The SLP will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team committed to clinician autonomy, creativity, and long-term professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct speech and language therapy through classroom push-ins, small group, and whole-group sessions
Model, program, and support AAC device use across all school environments
Integrate functional communication skills into daily routines from arrival through dismissal
Conduct speech and language evaluations and prepare written reports
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration
Perform annual swallowing and hearing screenings
Maintain and manage augmentative communication devices
Document student progress and complete Medicaid billing requirements
Collaborate with families, teachers, and clinical team members to support individualized goals
Student Population
K–12+ students with developmental disabilities
Medically fragile students and non-verbal communicators
High AAC utilization across school and clinical settings

Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
Valid Arizona Department of Education SLP Certificate
Valid Arizona Department of Health Services SLP License
Active NPI number
Ability to obtain AHCCCS ID for Medicaid billing
Fingerprint clearance and background check
Preferred:
- Arizona Hearing Screening Certificate

Pay Details: $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
