As a Solar O&M Technician II , you’ll support the daily operation and long‑term reliability of a large solar facility. You’ll work directly with modern PV equipment, collaborate with experienced operations teams, and play a key role in delivering clean, renewable power to the grid.

? What You’ll Be Doing

This role blends inspection, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting in a professional, safety‑focused environment:

  • Perform daily inspections of PV arrays, inverters, trackers, and electrical systems

  • Monitor system performance and identify underperformance or fault conditions

  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on solar PV and balance‑of‑plant equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair faults, outages, and equipment failures to maintain uptime

  • Conduct electrical testing including thermography, torque checks, and diagnostics

  • Replace components and restore systems to proper operating condition

  • Accurately document all work, including service logs, maintenance reports, and inventory usage

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and site‑specific procedures when working around energized equipment

  • Support vegetation management, housekeeping, and general site upkeep

  • Coordinate with remote operations teams, contractors, and site leadership

  • Follow written work instructions, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical schematics

  • Perform physical tasks such as walking long distances, climbing, lifting, and working on uneven terrain

✅ What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of solar operations & maintenance experience (utility‑scale or large commercial)

  • Working knowledge of:

  • PV modules

  • Inverters

  • Trackers

  • Balance‑of‑plant equipment

  • Electrical troubleshooting experience in a field environment

  • Ability to read and interpret:

  • Electrical schematics

  • Diagrams

  • Technical manuals

  • Strong safety mindset when working around energized electrical systems

  • Attention to detail in inspections, maintenance, and documentation

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

  • Physical capability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry as required

Preferred Experience

  • Utility‑scale solar O&M BG

  • General labor, construction, or industrial maintenance experience

  • Comfort working independently in the field while communicating with remote operations teams

  • Interest in long‑term growth within the renewable energy industry

? Schedule & Work Environment

  • Monday–Friday

  • 6:00 AM start time

  • 8‑hour workdays (site needs may vary)

  • Outdoor, utility‑scale solar facility

  • Work around PV arrays, inverters, trackers, and electrical equipment

  • Exposure to heat, cold, wind, and sun

  • Walking long distances on uneven terrain

  • Required PPE includes:

  • Flame‑resistant (FR) clothing

  • Composite‑toe boots

  • Regular use of electrical test equipment, hand tools, and safety gear

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
