Actalent Senior Systems Engineer in Phoenix, Arizona
We’re hiring a Systems Engineer to support the design and integration of airborne avionics and cockpit display systems used in modern flight decks. This is a hands‑on, technical role working across the full systems engineering V‑model, from early requirements and architecture through integration, verification, and certification.
You’ll work closely with hardware, software, reliability, and program teams, contributing to flight‑critical systems that move from lab to aircraft.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead systems design, development, integration, and verification activities for avionics and cockpit display systems
Own and drive requirements development, allocation, and change management
Participate in architecture definition, trade studies, and cross‑discipline problem solving
Perform system modeling, safety analysis, verification planning, and test execution
Support avionics lab integration and flight deck system bring‑up
Assist with installation, qualification, and aircraft integration requirements
Prepare certification and compliance documentation
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across programs
Support proposal development and technical estimates for new opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering (or related discipline)
5+ years of experience in a systems engineering role (avionics or aerospace preferred)
Experience using requirements management tools (DOORS, ADO, or similar)
Working knowledge of avionics standards such as ARP4754A, DO‑178B/C, DO‑254, DO‑160
Experience with avionics communication protocols including MIL‑STD‑1553, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, and/or Ethernet
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline
10+ years of systems engineering experience
Prior experience with flight deck displays, integrated avionics, or aircraft certification programs

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $185000.00/yr.
- 6% 401k Match - Cigna Health Insurance: Cigna HDHP (HSA) and Cigna PPO. Trident pays 100% of the premium cost of HDHP plan. - 20 days of PTO, 7 holidays, and company shut down from December 25th-December 31st
