GE Vernova Senior Project Engineering Manager in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description Summary

The Project Engineering Manager (PEM) will lead the technical coordination and integration of major equipment and product subsystems for large hydro projects. This role works closely with Product Management, the Engineering Centre of Excellence, the Project Office, customers, and external partners to manage interfaces, support execution, and ensure technical, cost, and performance targets are met. This position is based on site in Phoenix, Arizona, at the customer location.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and discuss customer requirements and the conformity of the system to the contractual specifications

  • Identify alternatives and optimization opportunities that could impact the design, supplies or site operations, based on the strategy determined by the project team

  • Improve, Coordinate and Control the interfaces internally, for customers and partners

  • Deliver specifications and interface data to the partners (system, turbines, generators and civil engineers)

  • Provide work packages to the Centre of Excellence for the project, including client requirements, interfaces, planning, performance, reliability and costs in accordance with what has been sold

  • Identify technical risks and opportunities

  • Technical point of contact for customers and external partners

  • Accept or reject changes in case of deviations from customer requirements or GE standards

  • Participate in project review meetings

Requirements :

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in engineering

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with turbine/generator project execution.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%

Desired Characteristics :

  • Experience with pump storage plants and/or hydropower turbine and generator projects is highly preferred

  • Customer-facing experience and/or technical coordination experience in a project environment

  • Relevant experience in planning and management of work packages

  • Significant experience in managing in a global matrix environment

  • Strong communication and project management skills

  • Proven leadership and negotiation skills

  • Team-player, positive & engaged contributor to the team, willingness to learn & adapt to business needs

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
