We're in search of an experienced Logistics professional to assist our Couriers and Dispatchers by planning and optimizing daily routes.
The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and at least 4 years of logistics route planning experience. This role will create and optimize routes, analyze in state route efficiencies, and ultimately create route improvements to be integrated into our TMS for deployment. We create our own routes and do not use third party for logistics, so this role is the primary architect of our route efficiencies.

This position is based in office so candidate will need to be local to the Phoenix/Greater Phoenix Area
POSITION SUMMARY
This position works collaboratively with operations to provide routine route optimiatzations, support route updates, manage existing routes within a route management system and develops routes needed for special projects. This position will perform all necessary duties of various Logistics positions at a high level to meet Logistics department needs and the needs of our clients and may be responsible for a technical and/or administrative area of focus.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
Job involves frequent communication in person, by phone or radio, and in writing, driving a car for long periods of time and making frequent stops for pickup and delivery. Ability to lift, push and carry up to 50 pounds.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Route Optimization
Organizing, prioritizing, assigning, and monitoring work
Principles and applications of critical thinking and analysis.
Project management and Customer service principles.
Lean experience.
Logistics software implementation.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple projects.
Demonstrated analytical skills.
Proficient in use of sophisticated transportation management software (TMS) programs
Excellent human relations, organizational and communication skills.
Knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Four (4) years of logistics acumen and route planning experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Additional related education and/or experience.
