Job Title: Punch Press Operator
Job Description
This role operates punch press equipment in a manufacturing environment to produce high-quality parts that meet precise customer specifications. The Punch Press Operator follows detailed work instructions, reads blueprints and routers, performs routine preventative maintenance, and maintains a clean and organized work area while supporting safe and efficient production.
Responsibilities
Lubricate machine parts in accordance with established work instructions to ensure proper operation and minimize wear.
Operate punch press equipment to perform required operations and produce parts to specified standards.
Read and interpret routers, blueprints, and sketches to determine dimensional specifications, tolerances, and operating requirements.
Dimensionally and visually inspect parts produced to verify they meet customer and quality requirements.
Perform required preventative maintenance procedures on assigned presses within specified time frames.
Ensure all preventative maintenance in the department is completed according to the preventative maintenance schedule.
Keep the work area clean and organized at all times by following 5S methods and housekeeping standards.
Assist with machine setup as needed to support production requirements.
Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating machinery and handling materials.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues and maintain efficient workflow.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and departmental goals.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or GED.
0–2 years of demonstrated experience for Level 1 Punch Press Operator, 2–5 years of demonstrated experience for Level 2 Punch Press Operator, or 5 or more years of demonstrated experience for Level 3 Punch Press Operator.
Ability to operate a punch press safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret routers, blueprints, and part sketches.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Capability to perform dimensional and visual inspections of produced parts to verify conformance to specifications.
Ability to follow written work instructions and preventative maintenance procedures.
Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while performing job duties.
Ability to drive and operate a forklift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Some vocational or technical training related to manufacturing, machining, or machine operation is preferred.
Forklift operator certification is preferred.
Experience operating punch presses, press brakes, or similar production machinery is beneficial.
Background in general labor or machine setup in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
Comfort working around fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals with appropriate safety measures in place.
Willingness to participate in continuous on-the-job training to improve skills related to job duties.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing shop environment that operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, with overtime possible but not guaranteed. The role involves operating punch presses and related production machinery, as well as driving and operating forklifts. The physical demands include regular talking, hearing, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and frequent reaching, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. The work environment may occasionally expose employees to fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals, with a noise level that is usually moderate. The facility follows 5S and housekeeping practices to keep work areas clean and organized, and provides ongoing training to ensure safe and efficient machine operation.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $54080.00/yr.
