Actalent Project Manager in Phoenix, Arizona

Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description

Connect your passion with purpose as a Project Manager supporting electric system distribution projects. You will manage various electric utility relocation projects, working closely with multiple customers and contractors simultaneously. This role requires a general knowledge of, or a willingness to learn, the technical aspects of Electric Utility Construction. You will be the subject matter expert while collaborating with customers and ensuring adherence to safety compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams.

  • Develop, manage, and forecast project schedules and budgets.

  • Coordinate resources and provide oversight and direction to team members.

  • Conduct effective upfront project planning to minimize costs and change orders, and identify risks.

  • Identify the scope of assigned projects and take logical actions to meet project requirements and deadlines.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer relationships and manage communications effectively.

  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical audiences, sometimes in public settings.

  • Recognize technical issues impacting projects and develop risk mitigation plans.

  • Facilitate communication between service providers and internal customers.

  • Respond to customer concerns and work with appropriate parties for resolution.

  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, design criteria, and operational requirements.

  • Project modifications and upgrades to existing facilities on the electric distribution system.

  • Collaborate with internal departments, service providers, EPC contractors, developers, and external entities to coordinate construction schedules.

  • Support construction activities related to projects.

  • Report on project and program progress as directed.

  • Gather, consolidate, and analyze facts related to project requirements.

  • Support emergency response work as requested.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • At least three years of relevant work experience, including managing simple projects.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Basic knowledge and experience in scheduling, estimating, accounting, and finance principles.

  • Basic knowledge in project management discipline to manage multiple simple to medium complexity projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.

  • Customer-oriented with a positive, team-oriented, and collaborative attitude.

  • Flexibility and understanding of business issues driving project needs.

  • Solid work ethic.

Work Environment

The role is remote, allowing you to work from home, but you must be local to the area.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
