Honeywell Principal Endpoint Architect in Phoenix, Arizona
As a Principal IT Architect, you will architect, support, and govern Honeywell’s global End User Computing (EUC) device management platforms at enterprise scale, supporting 50,000+ endpoints. Honeywell’s EUC organization is a distributed global team responsible for delivering modern, secure, and scalable end‑user computing services. Our vision is to transform Honeywell’s Digital Workplace through adoption of our Light IT Touch strategy, reimagining end‑user touchpoints by aligning modern technology, automation, and analytics to deliver personalized, high‑quality user experiences that improve productivity, increase satisfaction, and reduce overall cost.
The successful candidate (you) will
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Architecture Design : Responsible for creating and maintaining architectural frameworks that guide the design and development of technology solutions. This includes defining system architecture and standards for applications, infrastructure, and data management.
Stakeholder Collaboration : Works closely with business leaders, project managers, and engineering teams to understand requirements and objectives. This collaboration ensures that the solutions align with the strategic goals of the organization.
Technical Leadership : Acts as the primary technical authority for projects, providing guidance and expertise throughout the solution development lifecycle. This may involve reviewing technical designs, approving solutions, and addressing any technical escalations or exceptions.
Innovation and Research : Evaluates emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation. The Principal Solutions Architect is responsible for translating these insights into actionable strategies that enhance the organization’s technological capabilities.
Mentorship and Team Leadership : Provides mentorship to junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing. This role may also involve leading architectural review boards or technical working groups.
Documentation and Best Practices : Develops and maintains documentation related to architecture standards, design patterns, and technical roadmaps. They ensure that best practices are followed in the development and deployment of technology solutions.
Risk Management : Identifies potential architectural risks and challenges, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure the integrity and reliability of solutions.
Continuous Improvement : Proactively seeks ways to modernize and optimize existing systems and services, ensuring they remain scalable, secure, and efficient.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Endpoint Management Technologies : Proficiency in tools and frameworks for endpoint management, such as Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune), Tanium, Jamf, VMware Workspace ONE, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Citrix solutions.
Systems Architecture : Strong understanding of systems design principles, architecture patterns, and best practices for integrating endpoint solutions with existing IT infrastructures.
Security Best Practices : Knowledge of security protocols and practices related to endpoint protection, data privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Scripting and Automation : Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate endpoint management tasks and processes.
Networking Knowledge : Understanding of networking concepts and protocols that affect endpoint connectivity and communication.
Virtualization : Experience with virtualization technologies, as they often play a role in endpoint management (e.g., virtual desktops and applications).
Cloud Services : Knowledge of cloud computing and SaaS models, particularly as they relate to endpoint management solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into architectural requirements
Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing spaces and identify opportunities for improvement
Develop architectural design concepts and present them to stakeholders for review and approval
Create detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software
Collaborate with external architects and contractors to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
Provide guidance and support to junior architectural planning analysts
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in architectural planning and design
YOU MUST HAVE:
• Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
• 10+ years of experience in Information Technology with strong focus on systems architecture, endpoint management, or related areas
• 7+ years of combined specialized experience in endpoint management and architecture
• Microsoft’s Power Platform design and build capabilities.
• Advanced knowledge in PowerShell and Azure Automation.
• Advanced knowledge in SQL database management and usage.
• Solid understanding of End User Device Management technologies.
• Solid knowledge of Automated Provisioning of End User Devices.
• Conveys specific, observable, and/or measurable expectations for each assignment and verifies understanding and agreement on deliverables and timeframes.
• Prior experience formulating, planning, and implementing a cloud-connected endpoint strategy.
• Develop and present an Architecture Overview using PowerPoint and Data Flow Diagrams (DFD)
• Be able to explain how your future technology will shape the future of the business.
