ManpowerGroup Lead Systems Engineer – APU Control Systems (FADEC / DOORS / Safety‑Critical) in Phoenix, Arizona

Our client, a leading organization in the aerospace and defense sector, is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer – APU Control Systems to join their team. As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will be part of the Engines & Power Systems (EPS) department supporting the development, integration, and verification of safety‑critical control systems for Auxiliary Power Units (APUs). The ideal candidate will have direct experience with gas turbine/A PU control system components, strong systems engineering capabilities, and proven expertise working in safety‑critical aerospace environments, which will align successfully in the organization.

Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)

Pay Range:

$82.13/hr + OT eligible

What’s the Job? (Max 5)

  • Design, develop, and verify APU control systems , including electronic controllers and safety‑critical control logic.

  • Integrate control system LRUs (fuel control, lubrication modules, sensors, starter systems, harnessing) into the APU architecture.

  • Execute and document formal trade studies supporting design decisions, certification, and system optimization.

  • Lead system integration , troubleshooting, validation, and verification efforts including bench, rig, and HIL/SIL test environments.

  • Perform requirements analysis, decomposition, and traceability using IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (ELM / DOORS NG).

What’s Needed? (Max 5)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.

  • 8+ years of systems engineering experience in safety‑critical aerospace systems (DO‑178C / ARP4754A / ARP4761 environments).

  • Hands-on experience with gas turbine or APU control system components (FADEC/EEC, fuel control, lube modules, start systems, sensors, wire harnesses).

  • Proficiency with IBM ELM / DOORS NG for requirements analysis, decomposition, traceability, and verification.

  • Experience performing trade studies , system integration, and troubleshooting of complex control systems.
