Job Title: Equipment Technician
Job Description
Join our team as an Equipment Technician, where you will identify and resolve issues with fractional horsepower gasoline engines used in lawnmowers, garden tractors, and similar machines. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of these machines, providing customers with reliable solutions.
Responsibilities
Identify problems with fractional horsepower gasoline engines used in lawnmowers, garden tractors, and similar machines, and resolve them in a timely manner.
Locate causes of trouble, dismantle parts, examine for defects, and clean, adjust, replace, or repair as needed and authorized by the customer.
Communicate daily with Parts Customer Service Representative and/or Sales Center Manager regarding diagnosis, recommended courses of action, and repair status.
Treat company-issued tools and customer equipment with utmost care.
Observe safety and security procedures according to OSHA standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Mechanical skills with diagnostic testing and repair experience.
Experience with small engines (two-cycle, four-cycle, light diesel), as well as electrical and hydraulic units.
Successful completion of mechanic technical/trade school, or 1 year of mechanic experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to tow a utility trailer for equipment service and sales orders.
Own a set of basic tools for general repair of engines and/or power equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Equipment and Engine Training Certifications (EETC) are ideal.
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Ability to multitask between repairs and commit to overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.
Physical dexterity, coordination, and steadiness.

Work Environment
Join a small team of 5 technicians where you can utilize your own basic hand tools, such as drills, wrenches, sockets, and pliers. The role is not customer-facing, allowing you to focus on technical tasks. The schedule is Monday to Friday with core hours from 6AM to 3PM, but flexibility is provided for an 8-hour shift between 5AM and 4PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $30.00/hr.
