Honeywell Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer - Life Methods/Material Modeling in Phoenix, Arizona

As an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead complex mechanical testing projects, and modeling material test results, ensuring that all engineering processes align with industry standards, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance product reliability and performance.

You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a hybrid work schedule.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Materials behavior, modeling, and substantiation, to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical design, with a strong emphasis on materials behavior, modeling, and substantiation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough analysis and substantiation of designs with regard to material properties to verify compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management, to ensure seamless integration of material properties into design and production processes.

  • Generate comprehensive documentation, including test plans, and reports to support material selection decisions and compliance requirements.

  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies in materials science to implement best practices in mechanical design and analysis.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical design with a focus on materials behavior, life methods, and modeling.

  • Strong understanding of materials science, material behavior, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.

  • Proven track record in design substantiation processes including testing, validation, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

WE VALUE

  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers.

  • Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
