As an Advanced Embedded Software Engr within the Strategic Sensors group in Honeywell’s Sensing, Guidance & Navigation (SG&N) organization, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development and implementation of embedded software solutions for next-generation Inertial Sensor & Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) technologies.

You will be part of a team that is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge new products that leverage advanced technologies, particularly for Inertial Sensor & Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) solutions. You will have the opportunity to work on next-generation products and new technologies, collaborating with talented researchers, engineers and R&D laboratory teams dedicated to pioneering new solutions in sensing and navigation.

  • Design, develop, and integrate embedded software solutions for new product development

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in hardware, software, systems and R&D lab to bring new product initiatives to life.

  • Engage in the full software development lifecycle from concept through deployment.

  • Provide ongoing support and enhancements for existing sensing and guidance products

  • Work with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into detailed low-level embedded software designs and architectures.

  • Architect and code embedded software solutions, ensuring scalability and performance

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies

  • Execute and/or support Integration, Test and Certification processes.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

  • Embedded software engineering experience, particularly on low-level embedded software development

WE VALUE

  • Proficiency across the embedded software development lifecycle

  • Experience with System on Chip (SoC) and Multi-core processors

  • Knowledge of Agile development processes

  • Experience with Input/Output processing for A429 and Ethernet interfaces

  • Knowledge of software configuration and change management practices with DOORS and Atlassian tools

  • Experience with bare-metal programming, with a focus on low-level hardware interaction is of value.

  • Wide degree of creativity and latitude

  • Knowledge of optical systems, sensing and laser technologies is a plus, but not required.
