Confidential Employer Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Driver in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
The Driver is responsible for safely transporting members to and from medical appointments while providing professional, timely, and compassionate service. Drivers must follow all company procedures, maintain vehicle safety, and ensure proper securement of all passengers, including those using wheelchairs or stretchers.
Key Responsibilities
Transportation & Safety
- Safely transport ambulatory, wheelchair, and stretcher patients to scheduled appointments
- Follow assigned routes and schedules using RouteGenie
- Perform proper wheelchair securement using the 7-point tie-down system
- Assist members in and out of the vehicle when needed
- Ensure all passengers are wearing seatbelts and safely positioned before transport
- Maintain safe driving habits and comply with all traffic laws
Trip Management & Dispatch Communication
- Log into system at the start of shift and stay active throughout the day
- Accept, update, and complete trips in real time
- Communicate delays, issues, or changes immediately to dispatch
- Verify trip details (name, DOB, destination, LOS such as WCH/STR/AMBI) before transport
- Follow instructions for Return Pick Ups (Will Call / Scheduled)
Passenger Assistance
- Provide door-to-door or door-through-door service when required
- Assist with mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, oxygen tanks, etc.)
- Use proper body mechanics and lifting techniques
- Maintain professionalism, patience, and respect at all times
Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform daily vehicle inspections (pre-trip & post-trip)
- Keep vehicle clean inside and out
- Report any mechanical issues immediately
- Ensure fuel levels are maintained
