Role: Mainframe Operations and Production Control
Location: Remote
Roles/Responsibilities
Mandatory skills: Mainframe console operation, Mainframe Batch operation( IzWs), IPL procedure, Subsystem restart, JCL (secondary)
· Production control includes Batch scheduling, Monitoring, and initial Troubleshooting
· Experience in IzWs Tool to schedule the Batch Jobs and monitor
· Mainframe Console and HMC Monitoring of z/OS systems
· Manage incidents, logging issues, reporting, and Incidents resolution
· Respond to console exception/action messages
· Correct and report space problems; Backup & Restores; Perform File transfers
· Experience in executing IPL of Production and DR systems
· Handling WTOR in consoles
· Coordinate and Handle VTS (Tape) and DASD related issues, like varying it online/offline, mount/eject
· Starting and Draining the Initiators, start/stop subsystems, started tasks.
· Working with subsystem commands like CICS, DB2 commands (Start/Stop commands, Warm/Cold restarts, etc)
· Documentation – Refine any documentation already in place to create in-depth understanding of operations; Maintain a documentation that supports high performance environment; Documentation of IPL procedures
· Participate and perform DR activities, effectively collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, DRaaS Coordinators, clients, and vendors, while regularly updating managers on Drill status
· Provide training, technical guidance, and mentoring to junior team members
· Demonstrate strong communication, documentation, coordination, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team
Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $65,000- $91,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
