Join Us as a Junior Accountant!

We're seeking a community-oriented and mission-driven Junior Accountant to support general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes  This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site role expected to work 40 hours per week Monday-Friday. Responsibilities Include

General Ledger & Month-End Close

  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements. 
  • Maintain trial balance accuracy.
  • Research and resolve account discrepancies.

Cash & Revenue Reconciliation

  • Assist with daily and monthly cash reconciliations.
  • Support revenue tracking and billing processes.
  • Review reconciliation documentation.
  • Investigate and document transaction variances.

Accounts Payable & Receivable Support

  • Provide backup support for accounts payable
  • Assist with invoice tracking and vendor communication. 
  • Support accounts receivable tracking and billing processes. 

Reporting & Budget Support

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements. 
  • Support budget preparation and variance analysis. 
  • Compile financial data for internal reporting. 
  • Prepare account analyses as requested. 

Audit & Compliance

  • Assist in gathering documentation for annual financial and 401(k) audits.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation. 
  • Support compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. 

General

  • Participate in Finance department meetings. 
  • Communicate professionally with staff and management. 
  • Support process improvements. 
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture. 
  • Other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements

  • A commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op. 
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred; Associates degree in accounting or equivalent practical accounting experience may substitute for formal education. 
  • 0 to 2 years of accounting experience, including internships. 
  • Foundational understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP principles. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas and data organization. 
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems preferred; Sage 100 is a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and multiple priorities.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. 
  • Ability to remain seated for up to 8 hours, and lift up to 20lbs. 
  • Be, or become upon hiring, an member in good standing of Weavers Way Co-op.
