Job Summary
The Cutting Machine Operator primary focus is on producing high quality protective garments. The ideal candidate will operate Lectra/Gerber and other automated cutting machines (Paragon), manage material usage, and support inventory control. This role requires attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet production demands.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate Lectra/Gerber cutting machines and other automated equipment to cut fabric and materials according to production specifications.
- Collaborate with other cutters and spreaders to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Record and monitor material usage; maintain accurate inventory documentation. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on cutting equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with production and inventory teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Inspect cut materials for quality and accuracy before releasing to production.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures.
Being able to spread fabric manually and automated.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience operating Lectra/Gerber or similar cutting machines preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret cutting patterns/work with online cutting software
- Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
- Good organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability tow ork independently and in a team environment.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Able to work in inches and yards.
Fabric knowledge is a plus.
Schedule Requirements
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed to support production timelines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required for machine operation and material inspection.
