Kelly Services Application Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Our client is seeking an Application Engineer with 2–5 years of experience to support customer-driven engineering solutions within a sheet metal fabrication and design environment in Philadelphia, PA. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in sheet metal design, fabrication processes, or manufacturing engineering background seeking an Applications/Sales type role.

Candidates with prior experience in project engineering or sales engineering are highly preferred. The ideal individual will be comfortable working directly with customers to understand technical requirements, develop engineered solutions, and support projects from concept through production.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers to understand application requirements, specifications, and project goals

  • Develop technical solutions related to sheet metal design and fabrication

  • Review customer drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure manufacturability

  • Support quoting, project scoping, and technical sales efforts

  • Work closely with internal engineering, production, and sales teams to ensure successful project execution

  • Provide technical guidance and strong customer support throughout the project lifecycle

  • Assist with design modifications, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support project timelines, documentation, and communication with key stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on industry experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in application engineering, project engineering, sales engineering, or related field

  • Experience with sheet metal design and/or fabrication

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Strong problem-solving and project coordination abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous project engineering or sales engineering experience

  • Experience supporting custom manufacturing or fabricated products

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and customer requirements
