If you’re the kind of mechanic who thrives on real industrial work — lifting, rigging, rebuilding, testing — and takes pride in precision craftsmanship, this role was built for you.
As a Pump Assembler , you won’t be doing light or repetitive assembly. You’ll be working hands‑on with large industrial pumps and rotating equipment used in critical water and fluid‑handling systems. Your expertise ensures that essential infrastructure operates reliably and safely where it matters most.
This is a role for someone who wants responsibility, trust, and work that truly matters .
? What You’ll Be Doing
Tearing down, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding industrial pumps and rotating equipment
Performing hydrostatic and performance testing using test stands and specialized tools
Operating overhead cranes, hoists, rigging, and material‑handling equipment
Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, work instructions, and test standards
Prepping, painting, and packaging pumps and components for shipment
Supporting receiving, stocking, and fulfillment of parts and pump orders
Maintaining a clean, safe work environment and following lockout/tagout procedures
? Where You’ll Make an Impact
You’ll support Pewaukee’s production operations on 2nd shift , partnering closely with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure every pump shipped meets Xylem’s high mechanical and performance standards.

High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of experience in:
Heavy mechanical assembly
Industrial maintenance or repair
Pump, motor, gearbox, or rotating equipment repair
Ability to read mechanical drawings and specifications
Experience using precision tools (micrometers, dial indicators, torque tools, calipers)
Comfort working independently in physically demanding environments
Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
Basic computer skills for work orders and test documentation
Strong communication, teamwork, and safety focus
Preferred:
Overhead crane, hoist, or forklift experience
Background in fabrication, welding, diesel, or industrial equipment
Experience working in tight assembly cells, enclosed spaces, or elevated positions
? The Kind of Assembler Who Thrives Here
You’re hands‑on. You’re mechanically sharp. You understand that quality, alignment, torque, and testing matter — because failure isn’t an option. You take pride in building equipment the right way and being part of a team that delivers results you can stand behind.
? What We Offer
$1,000 Sign‑On Bonus
$24–$38/hour , based on experience
