Timothy G. Michalik LLC in Petoskey, MI and Livonia, MI seeks a FT Project Engineering Manager to assist with the request for quotation process from clients in the automotive domain (US and Mexico) including data gathering, working with end-customer' sales, engineering and design teams, and sharing all data with proper team members. 6%
Review all questions related to new projects and establish communication with end-customers to get closure to any open questions. 4%
Present technical review to the end-customers engineering team. 9%
Support weekly engineering meetings daily with end-customers once new business initiated to review project progress and review any open issues occurring during project launch. 12%
Interface as needed with internal teams (Project Department, Product Engineer Dept, Casting and Mold Dept, Sales Dept, Logistic Dept and Quality Dept) based in China 3%
Travel to and interface as needed with the engineering teams of automotive clients in Michigan for design and manufacturing topics and to automotive manufacturing plants in Ohio, Michigan and Mexico to address incoming quality issues and perform on-site validation events. 2%
Assign and supervise design tasks (3D modeling, print drafting, design data transfer) to the proper design team member 6%
Assist with requests for quotations from automotive clients in Brazil, Turkey, UK, US and Poland, including data gathering, working with end-customers' sales, engineering and design teams, and sharing all data with proper team members 6%
Review all questions related to new projects and establish communication with end-customers to get closure to any open questions. 2%
Guide and mentor project team to develop technical reviews, timing plans. Monitor and ensure project start-up plans and required documentation are completed. 18%
Oversee the day-to-day operations of project team and sales team through project meetings, track and monitor project progress, tooling development and execution to deadlines and to ensure program development. Review progress data and reports. 18%
Meet with Sales departments at automotive clients in Turkey and Poland, and automotive clients in various locations in the United States as needed for TVMS and business development. 4%
Manage client warehouses in USA, Mexico and Canada to resolve any delivery or quality issues and establish a work plan to correct the open issues. 4%
Inspect Clients manufacturing sites in China and Thailand annually. 6%
U.S. Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related Engineering field is required. Must also have two (2) years of experience as a Project Engineer, Industrial Engineer or closely related Automotive Engineering position. The two (2) years of experience must include a full two (2) years of experience with die casting manufacturing design and processing, including tooling design and Mold Flow analysis, machining, and machining GD&T. In the alternative, will accept a U.S. Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a closely related Engineering field and five (5) years of experience as a Project Engineer, Industrial Engineer or a closely related Engineering position. Two (2) of the five (5) years of experience must include a full two (2) years of experience with die casting manufacturing design and processing, including tooling design and Mold Flow analysis, machining, and machining GD&T.
