POSITION SUMMARY:
The Grants Manager's main function is to secure and manage grant funding that provides the financial resources needed to make affordable homeownership and repair work possible. The Grants Manager is responsible for the full grant lifecycle, including grant preparation and writing, compliance monitoring, reporting, and closeout. This role prepares technical grant applications by compiling data, documentation, timelines, and budgets, and writing clear narratives that demonstrate project impact. The Grants Manager ensures all construction and repair projects comply with federal, state, and local grant requirements, maintains comprehensive compliance documentation, and coordinates grant closeout processes to ensure the successful completion of all grant-funded activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Grant Prospecting & Application
- Researches and identifies available funding opportunities for organizational programs and projects.
- Maintains an organized database of funding opportunities and application timelines
- Prepares and writes high-quality technical grant applications for housing and construction-related funding opportunities.
- Gathering of all needed supporting documentation and application materials, such as letters of support, legal documents, project data, supporting documentation, timelines, and detailed budgets.
- Writes clear and compelling grant narratives that effectively communicate project goals, community impact, and alignment with funder priorities.
- Coordinates with construction, repair, and finance staff to gather necessary information for grant applications.
- Ensures grant applications meet all technical requirements and submission deadlines.
- Efforts result in increased financial support to carry out the organization's work
Grant Compliance Management
- Creates an organized database to track reporting deadlines, goal achievement metrics, etc., to ensure efficient oversight of funded projects.
- Develops quality partnerships with funding agencies
- Prepares, gathers, and submits all required reports and documentation
- Ensures the organization is operating in compliance with all grant requirements
- Ensures all construction and repair projects comply with specific grant requirements, including prevailing wage, procurement standards, and reporting timelines.
- Develops and maintains systems for tracking grant compliance across multiple projects.
- Stays current on federal, state, and local grant regulations and requirements.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for grant compliance questions and issues.
- Conducts regular compliance reviews and audits of grant-funded activities.
- Identifies and addresses compliance concerns proactively.
- Develops and maintains compliance checklists and procedures.
Documentation & Record-Keeping
Maintains accurate and comprehensive records of contractor payments, labor compliance, and procurement documentation as required by funding sources.
Tracks and documents grant-specific milestones, including start dates, completion dates, and progress benchmarks.
Ensures all required documentation is collected and properly filed for each grant-funded project.
Maintains organized filing systems (physical and digital) for grant compliance records.
Ensures documentation is audit-ready at all times.
Manages the retention of compliance records in accordance with grant requireme
