Kelly Services Pharmaceutical Project Manager in Petersburg, Virginia
Kelly Government Solutions is currently recruiting a Pharmaceutical Program Manager to support a government contract. The Program Manager (Contractor) is responsible for coordinating and managing cross-functional programs and projects that support operational, technical, and strategic initiatives. This role ensures program objectives, timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements are clearly defined and executed in alignment with organizational priorities. The Program Manager collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to monitor progress, mitigate risks, and drive successful program outcomes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Program Planning & Execution
Develop and maintain program charters, project plans, schedules, and deliverables
Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure alignment and timely execution
Monitor progress against milestones and adjust plans to accommodate scope or priority changes
Communication & Reporting
Facilitate program meetings, document action items, and ensure follow-through with stakeholders
Prepare and maintain status reports, dashboards, and executive summaries
Serve as the central point of communication for program updates, decisions, and issues
Risk, Issue & Change Management
Identify risks, issues, and dependencies; develop and implement mitigation strategies
Maintain risk and issue logs and escalate concerns as appropriate
Manage change control processes related to scope, timeline, and resource adjustments
Stakeholder & Resource Coordination
Coordinate activities across internal teams, contractors, vendors, and external partners
Support resource planning, including skill identification and capacity assessment
Ensure clear communication of roles, responsibilities, and expectations among stakeholders
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and version control in accordance with quality standards
Ensure program management processes align with internal procedures and applicable regulatory requirements
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve program management practices, tools, and workflows
Implement standardized processes to enhance execution efficiency and reporting consistency
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, Project Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of program or project management experience, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or other regulated industries
Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in project management tools and standard business applications
Preferred
PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification
Experience with GMP operations, pharmaceutical quality systems, or technical transfer initiatives
Experience working with government-funded programs or external partners
Vendor management experience
Physical Requirements
Continuous use of computer screens for reading, writing, and presenting information
Frequent verbal communication and active listening in meetings and presentations
Regular use of hands for typing and operating a computer mouse
Primarily sedentary work with occasional standing or walking
