Salary: £35,833 + Dependent Upon Experience

Job Summary
At the Europe Research and Development Centre (ERDC) based in Peterborough the Test & Development Engineering team operate as a centre of excellence for European based product development. Reporting into the Test Facilities Engineering Manager, the role of Manager Production for Electronics, Controls & Instrumentation is responsible for the day-to-day running of a team of approximately 10 technician staff with the primary responsibility as calibration and maintenance of the facility’s measurement and control systems, ensuring the integrity and quality of test data while supporting power system development and verification activities.
The operational function of the team will be formed around local daily governance as well as representing the team in facility wide discussions to ensure maintenance activities are conducted in a timely manner. The role will work across a peer group of other functional Production Managers to ensure workstream deliverables are achieved as well as work closely with engineers within the Test Facilities Engineering team. The role itself is based at the Peterborough site and will require on-site attendance to operate effectively
What You Will Do
Within this role the core responsibilities are as follows:
Day-to-day leadership of approximately 10 skilled technician staff
Work with peer group to ensure operational functions across ERDC are supported
Ensure equipment calibration and maintenance activities are conducted to the right schedule and standard
Have budgetary control over consumables and external calibration expenditure
Ensure team members are continually developing their skillset with targeted development
Follow escalation routes for timely issue resolution and drive an environment of continuous improvement
