A Day in the Life
The Senior Director, Remote Sales Solutions provides strategic, operational, and leadership for Medtronic’s Remote Sales organization in EurAsia, driving commercial impact through scalable, data‑driven remote selling models.
This role is accountable for defining the direction, operating rhythm, and performance standards of remote commercial execution, enabling consistent coverage, customer engagement, and growth across selected customer segments. The leader partners closely with regional and functional stakeholders to strengthen remote sales effectiveness while fostering alignment, capability development, and operational excellence.
The position will work closely with a multi‑layer remote sales organization, including Remote Sales Managers (country or cluster leaders) and Remote Sales Representatives, and plays a key role in advancing modern sales capabilities, digital adoption, and talent development across markets.
A strong leadership presence, transformation mindset, and ability to operate effectively in a complex matrix environment are essential.
Responsibilities may include the following (and other duties may be assigned):
1. Strategic & Commercial Leadership
Define and execute a Remote Sales strategy aligned with Medtronic’s commercial priorities and customer segmentation approach.
Provide strategic leadership to evolve remote sales models, sales motions, and ways of working to improve reach, efficiency, and customer engagement.
Act as a change leader, challenging the status quo and enabling new approaches through data, digital tools, and commercial innovation.
2. Remote Sales Performance & Commercial Excellence
Lead and oversee remote sales performance across multiple geographies, with accountability for commercial outcomes and growth contribution.
Establish best‑in‑class execution standards for prospecting, pipeline management, lead conversion, and customer lifecycle management for segmented accounts.
Drive continuous improvement in sales productivity, targeting methodologies, and execution frameworks.
3. Organizational & People Leadership
Lead, develop, and inspire a multi‑country remote sales organization, including:
Remote Sales Managers (country or cluster leads)
Remote Sales Representatives
Build a high‑performance culture through strong coaching, capability building, and inclusive leadership.
Ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, KPIs, and career pathways, supporting talent development and succession planning across markets.
4. Customer & Market Focus
Ensure the remote sales channel delivers a consistent, high‑quality, and compliant customer experience.
Advance remote‑first engagement strategies that improve access, coverage, and decision‑maker reach.
Integrate therapy knowledge into training, onboarding, and ongoing capability development.
5. Cross‑Functional & Matrix Collaboration
Partner closely with Regional Leadership, Strategic Accounts, Marketing, Digital, Finance, and Operations to ensure aligned execution and shared priorities.
Collaborate on digital and analytics enablement (CRM, reporting, segmentation, call planning tools) to strengthen remote sales effectiveness.
Serve as a visible leader and advocate for modern commercial practices across the organization.
6. Operating Rhythm, Governance & Compliance
Define KPIs, dashboards, and performance management routines for remote sales teams.
Ensure adherence to Medtronic policies, compliance standards, and local regulatory requirements.
Support resource planning, coverage optimization, and capacity planning to maximize commercial impact.
Required Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of progressive commercial or sales leadership experience.
5–10 years in senior leadership roles managing complex, multi‑country organizations.
Demonstrated experience leading commercial evolution, operating model enhancement, or sales transformation initiatives.
Proven background in remote sales, inside sales, digital sales models, or scalable commercial operations.
Experience within one or more therapy areas preferred: ACM, CRDN, PVH, Surgical.
