The role
As a Senior Principal Engineer – Structures , you will provide technical and strategic leadership on a diverse portfolio of transport infrastructure projects, working closely with clients, multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders. You will lead the design and delivery of complex structural solutions while mentoring engineers and contributing to the ongoing growth of WSP’s Transport business in WA.
You will work both independently and collaboratively, with a strong focus on technical quality, safety, sustainability and client outcomes.

Lead and deliver the structural design of complex transport infrastructure , including bridges and other major transport structures
Provide technical authority and review of engineering drawings, models and reports
Manage scope, programme and budget for assigned projects
Build and maintain strong client relationships , identifying opportunities to add value and support repeat work
Contribute to business development , including preparation of technical inputs, cost estimates and proposals
Mentor and develop engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and ethical practice
Ensure compliance with WSP Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) systems and project-specific safety plans
Promote innovation, digital engineering and the use of 3D modelling tools within the Digital Engineering framework
Actively participate in professional development and internal mentoring programs
You are a highly respected structural engineer with a strong background in transport infrastructure and a passion for leadership. You bring:
Extensive experience delivering major structural and bridge projects within a consulting environment
Proven capability to lead teams and manage complex technical challenges
Strong knowledge of Australian standards and transport authority requirements
Experience using 3D structural modelling tools and digital delivery methods
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A commitment to safety, ethics, quality and continuous improvement
Chartered status (CPEng/RPEQ/RPEng) or eligibility to obtain it will be highly regarded.
