Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Designer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) inPerth.We manage our clients’ entire project lifecycle from studies to building assets, operating the assets, and developing efficiencies. As the successful candidate, you will:
Understand the owner/user requirements and the project mission
Perform conceptual layout work
Lead the delivery of design and drafting of plant models using applicable standards, project technical specifications and enterprise or project procedures
Lead the preparation of 3D equipment modelling and 3D design
Interface with Lead Discipline Engineers, Design Co-Ordinator’s and other Lead Discipline Designers
Lead and ensure the quality of engineering design details and special items drawings
Provide input into capital estimates and project schedules.
Participate in formal engineering review processes.
Provision of on-site construction and commissioning technical support.
You will bring to the role:
The ideal candidate will hold an Advanced Diploma of Engineering (or an equivalent qualification) and demonstrate strong capability in design and modelling. You will bring experience from large, multidisciplinary EPCM projects and be comfortable both taking direction and working independently. In this position, you’ll lead and coordinate a team of electrical and instrumentation designers while applying your skills across 2D and 3D CAD platforms, with experience in Bentley tools considered a significant advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with proven experience in large industrial process plant environments.
