Fire Protection Engineer – Perth | Help Deliver One of WA’s Major Healthcare Projects

WSP Perth is growing, and we’re on the lookout for a Fire Protection Engineer to join our dedicated team working on a major, high‑profile healthcare project—one of the largest and most impactful developments in Western Australia.

As part of one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms, you’ll contribute to innovative, sustainable solutions across key sectors including Healthcare, Transport, Mission Critical, Defence, and Commercial.

What You’ll Do

As a Fire Protection Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering industry‑leading fire protection design for complex building environments. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary experts within our Perth office to support the delivery of this landmark healthcare project and help strengthen WSP’s growing presence in WA.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering fire protection design (wet and dry systems) across large‑scale, complex projects with a strong focus on compliance with Australian Standards, NCC, and client requirements.

  • Applying innovation and best practice to produce high‑quality documentation and cost‑effective solutions.

  • Building trusted relationships with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders, representing WSP with professionalism and confidence.

  • Bringing proactive, fresh thinking to technical challenges and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is not only technically strong, but genuinely excited about contributing to one of WA’s most significant healthcare developments.

You’ll bring:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience in Australian building services projects.

  • Solid technical capability in fire protection design and documentation.

  • Familiarity with Revit MEP, NavisWorks, and an understanding of BIM workflows.

  • Prior experience within consulting is ideal, but we also welcome candidates from D&C backgrounds ready to step into consulting.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with ease.

  • A positive, energetic attitude and genuine passion for engineering excellence.
