As a self-motivated Environmental Scientist in our growing Contaminated Land team in Perth, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality work while providing a meaningful contribution to the growth of the greater Geosciences team. As part of the Contaminated Land Team, you will be supported throughout your career development by our team of industry-leading experts, consisting of principal and senior-level scientists and engineers.
As part of the Contaminated Land team, you will:
As part of a project team, contribute and take ownership in the delivery of preliminary and detailed contaminated land assessments, including site management plans, remediation action plans and high-quality technical reports.
Plan and carry out field investigations across soil, vapour, surface water and groundwater, including supervising drilling and sampling programs.
Work alongside technical specialists and subject matter experts, contributing your insights and learning from others.
Interpret complex datasets and confidently communicate findings through clear, well-structured and defensible reporting.
Play an active role in developing proposals, budgets and tenders, directly contributing to the growth and direction of the team.
To be successful in the role, you will need:
A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology or Geology.
3 years’ experience in the contaminated land industry.
Exposure to a diverse range of contaminated land investigations across different sites, contaminants and project types.
Confidence in managing site investigations, supervising fieldwork and applying soil and groundwater sampling methodologies.
A working knowledge of the ASC NEPM and contaminated land regulatory requirements in Western Australia.
Sound soil logging, data management, analytical and technical writing skills, with pride in producing high-quality work.
A current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake field work, including in remote locations.
A collaborative, ownership-driven mindset, with the confidence to contribute ideas, improve processes and help build a team you’re proud to be part of.
This position includes both office and field work, and applicants must be physically able to stand and work in the field.
