As a self-motivated Environmental Scientist in our growing Contaminated Land team in Perth, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality work while providing a meaningful contribution to the growth of the greater Geosciences team. As part of the Contaminated Land Team, you will be supported throughout your career development by our team of industry-leading experts, consisting of principal and senior-level scientists and engineers.

As part of the Contaminated Land team, you will:

  • As part of a project team, contribute and take ownership in the delivery of preliminary and detailed contaminated land assessments, including site management plans, remediation action plans and high-quality technical reports.

  • Plan and carry out field investigations across soil, vapour, surface water and groundwater, including supervising drilling and sampling programs.

  • Work alongside technical specialists and subject matter experts, contributing your insights and learning from others.

  • Interpret complex datasets and confidently communicate findings through clear, well-structured and defensible reporting.

  • Play an active role in developing proposals, budgets and tenders, directly contributing to the growth and direction of the team.

To be successful in the role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology or Geology.

  • 3 years’ experience in the contaminated land industry.

  • Exposure to a diverse range of contaminated land investigations across different sites, contaminants and project types.

  • Confidence in managing site investigations, supervising fieldwork and applying soil and groundwater sampling methodologies.

  • A working knowledge of the ASC NEPM and contaminated land regulatory requirements in Western Australia.

  • Sound soil logging, data management, analytical and technical writing skills, with pride in producing high-quality work.

  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake field work, including in remote locations.

  • A collaborative, ownership-driven mindset, with the confidence to contribute ideas, improve processes and help build a team you’re proud to be part of.

This position includes both office and field work, and applicants must be physically able to stand and work in the field.
