PRIVATE INDUSTRY COUNCIL WESTMD(GB) Part-time Substitute Afterschool Teacher in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania
As a Substitute Afterschool Teacher, you will help create a safe, equitable, and supportive environment where students can build skills, confidence, and motivation. Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, maintaining positive classroom management, supervising daily activities, communicating with families and school staff, following safety and emergency protocols, managing supplies and documentation, and supporting overall program coordination under the guidance of the Programs Supervisor.
What You'll Do:
. Provide a safe, equitable, and supportive afterschool learning environment for elementary students.
. Implement engaging lesson plans and enrichment activities.
. Maintain accurate student rosters, communication logs, and dismissal procedures.
. Manage classroom behavior using positive, consistent strategies and respect classroom spaces.
. Communicate regularly with the Programs Supervisor, school staff, families, and community members.
. Coordinate daily responsibilities and activities during program coverage.
. Follow all school and program policies, including emergency procedures and required drills.
. Track attendance, student progress, and complete all required forms, timesheets, and documentation.
. Identify and manage classroom supplies, maintain inventories, and return materials at year end.
. Report any student safety or endangerment concerns immediately.
. Attend required meetings, trainings, and events, including non-traditional hours.
. Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring:
. Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; teaching certificate preferred.
. Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with youth in an educational setting preferred.
. Strong classroom management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
. Ability to remain focused and organized in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
. Professionalism, flexibility, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
. Dependable transportation and willingness to work at alternative locations as needed.
. Act 33, Act 34, FBI/DPW, and NSOR clearances at hire.
. Approved Mandated Reporter training.
. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and work in a primarily standing role.
. Comfort handling confidential student and family information.

. Pay: $30.00 per hour
. Hours: up to 11 hours per week (2.5 hours following school dismissal, Monday-Thursday)
