Nammo Perry is a center of excellence for the design, development and production of munitions and pyrotechnic products for the U.S. Department of Defense. Nammo employees working at the Florida site manufacture all types of 40mm low and high velocity ammunition; pyrotechnic marking; signaling and tactical illumination devices; battlefield effects training simulators; demolition charges; hand grenade fuzes; and other ammunition components. Additionally, they provide load, assemble, and pack (LAP) services for large caliber direct-fire ammunition.
The Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician Intern will provide skilled commercial electrical aptitude, awareness and abilities to perform duties associated with facility maintenance and industrial production support with minimal supervision.
NOTE: This is a paid internship, local candidates only
What You’ll Do: Precision in Action
Assist in electrical demolition, construction, fabrication, repairs, assembly or manufacturing equipment, systems, and facilities
Preform all types of electrical duties to include setting and bending of conduit, pulling wires, connecting bus bars, mounting disconnects and similar functions
Troubleshoot and isolate root cause failures of electrical machinery and systems
Provide production electrical maintenance support to automation equipment and systems
Perform preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance services
Other duties as assigned

Must have the ability to perform a wide variety of duties with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in team environment
Experience with general mechanical equipment and tools
Must be able to drive a car, truck or golf cart
Must be able to travel off site for training
Good organizational skills
Have working aptitude of mechanical and electrical concepts, practices, troubleshooting skills, to make repairs on industrialized equipment and facilities
Must have predictable onsite attendance

Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing
Must have good vision (may be corrected)
Must have no known hearing loss
Must be able to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to endure sunshine and weather extremes
Must be able to endure fumes that are within OSHA accepted standards
Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed; including nights and weekends
Must be able to climb ladders, steps and/or onto step stools and endure high places
Must be able to perform all motions necessary to dig ditches
Must be able to reach overhead or outward
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate (<85 dBA), however in some instances this job may require work in areas where ear protection is necessary
