Description
Gardner Energy is seeking multiple individuals to join our growing solar construction team as General Laborers to help with the construction and installation of a commercial solar array in San Carlos Arizona for the Apache Tribe. The General Laborer supports solar construction and installation teams by assisting with material handling, site preparation, equipment setup, and general construction tasks. This is an entry-level role ideal for individuals who are safety-minded, reliable, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry.
Disclaimer: This is a temporary position for the duration of the project. The project site is the San Carlos Healthcare facility near Peridot Arizona.
Detailed Description:
Assist installation crews with solar construction tasks on commercial, or utility-scale projects
Load, unload, and organize tools, equipment, and materials at job sites
Carry and stage solar panels, racking systems, and electrical components
Perform general site preparation and clean-up to maintain a safe and organized work environment
Support crew leaders and skilled trades as directed
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and job site safety protocols
Participate in daily job site safety meetings and job hazard assessments
Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly
Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion
Required Qualifications:
Ability to perform physical labor in outdoor environments (heat, cold, wind, uneven terrain)
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
Willingness to work at heights and climb ladders as required
Ability to dig, backfill, and fill ground mount baskets with rock
Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow directions
Commitment to job site safety
Valid driver’s license preferred (not required for all positions)
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous construction, general labor, roofing, or solar experience
Familiarity with hand and power tools
Fall Protection Training
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (or willingness to obtain)
Work Environment and Physical Demand
Outdoor work on active construction sites
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and climbing
Exposure to varying weather conditions
Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Expected work schedule M-F 6:00AM -2:30PM (subjected to change based on conditions/foreman’s discretion)
