We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Training Specialist in Peoria, IL.

Job Summary:
As the Training Specialist , you will support the design, development, and delivery of technical training modules and courses in Applied Failure Analysis, Large Bore Engines, Print Reading, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) for dealers, customers, and internal-facing employees to maintain and enhance job-related technical competence.

What You Will Do:
Develop and deliver instructor-led technical training in Applied Failure Analysis, Large Bore Engines, Print Reading, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Design, update, and maintain technically accurate course materials, assessments, and hands-on lab activities in collaboration with instructional designers and SMEs.
Conduct technician competency and skills assessments; analyze results to identify gaps and drive targeted training improvements
Ensure training delivery and materials comply with technical standards, safety requirements, and organizational policies.
Evaluate training effectiveness using performance metrics and ROI data; implement continuous improvements.
Partner with product and industry teams to align training with current products, strategies, and operational initiatives.
Maintain training labs, tooling, and equipment; support updates and capital equipment planning.
Collaborate with the global instructor network to standardize content, share best practices, and improve program effectiveness.
What You Have (Required Skills):

Effective Communications : Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Problem Solving : Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Technical Expertise: High level understanding of engine systems: Air & Exhaust, Fuel, Cooling, Lubrication, and electrical systems.
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
5+ years of experience as a technician, technical support, and classroom instructor, or related experience
Mechanical degree, apprenticeship, or comparable job experience
Understanding of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), electrical and mechanical safety practices.
Caterpillar Instructor Accreditation Program (CIAP) certification or ability to complete within six months.
Proven ability to deliver technical trainings to diverse, multi-cultural audiences.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, including experience with ET, SIS, and TMI.
Working knowledge of Caterpillar generator sets and control systems.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and high instructional standards.
Strong computer skills with experience developing training materials (desktop publishing).

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
