We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering with a focus on design and application of related products, particularly in off-highway mobile equipment. The successful candidate will work on designing and improving electrical systems in large haulage mining vehicles.
Responsibilities
Design and develop electrical systems for off-highway mobile equipment.
Conduct failure and root cause analysis to improve system reliability.
Incorporate knowledge of construction, mining practices, and maintenance procedures into design projects.
Work with low and high voltage DC and AC circuits ranging from 5V to 2600V.
Utilize CAD and PC programs for design functions.
Engage in analytical and testing methods to ensure optimal performance of electrical systems.
Collaborate with teams to apply MSHA regulations and recommended practices in designs.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience or a Master’s Degree with 3+ years of experience.
Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Proficient in communication.
Knowledge of low voltage DC and high voltage AC/DC circuits.
Experience with CAD software for design purposes.
Competent in failure and root cause analysis.
Familiarity with electrical and electronic systems, hydraulics, engines, and drive systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with 2D wiring design software such as Capital Logic, RSD, Pro-Diagram, Zuken E3.
Experience with 3D CAD software like Creo/Creo-View.
Strong electrical circuit troubleshooting abilities.
Experience in high voltage component selection and implementation.
Understanding of high voltage enclosure design criteria.
Experience with FMEA and Risk Assessments, functional safety, and MTTF.
Work Environment
The work environment includes brand new facilities with opportunities for remote work every other Friday. There is potential for travel to international mining sites, including the Arctic, Chile, and India. The company offers a path to direct hire and promotions, and relocation assistance may be available.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peoria, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $67.30/hr.
