The Position
The Equipment Engineering department provides discipline-focused technical leadership and accountability for equipment delivery across capital projects and engineering services. We support global manufacturing sites, CMOs, and affiliates by managing both single and multidisciplinary projects to ensure the highest standards of technical excellence.
The Opportunity
Providing technical leadership and accountability for synthetic molecule equipment (DS & DP) within capital projects and engineering services.
Leading the independent planning, design, and implementation of mechanical and process engineering projects in compliance with global standards and health authority requirements.
Managing sub-project budgets, schedules, and priorities while ensuring close coordination across various engineering disciplines.
Interacting with global vendors of synthetic molecule manufacturing equipment to manage technical specifications and design reviews.
Contributing to overall project scope including options analysis, execution strategies, and the development of detailed work breakdown structures.
Managing sub-project teams and external contractors by providing clear guidance and ownership of work packages through all project phases.
Supervising qualified external engineering firms and service providers to ensure timely and quality-compliant project execution.
Leading Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) to ensure equipment meets design specifications prior to handover.
Mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers to contribute to the technical growth and professional development of the team.

You are a strategic and technically proficient leader with a global perspective and a strong sense of accountability. You display exceptional collaboration and communication skills, particularly when interfacing with equipment manufacturers and diverse stakeholders. Your analytical mindset and problem-solving capabilities allow you to resolve complex technical issues in demanding environments while upholding a commitment to team building and professional excellence.
Further you possess the following qualifications and experiences:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with extensive experience in pharmaceutical synthetic molecule equipment.
7 or more years of international experience managing capital projects (15–50m CHF) in Drug Substance/Drug Product or highly regulated Specialty Chemical environments. Proven expertise in equipment engineering within GxP or similarly stringent regulatory frameworks is essential.
Deep expertise in synthesis systems, separation equipment, drying technologies, and Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) manufacturing.
Proven track record in equipment qualification (IQ/OQ), commissioning, and FAT/SAT execution within a GMP-regulated environment.
Proficient knowledge of English and German (written and spoken) is required; additional languages are a plus.
Willingness to travel significantly (50%+) and accept international assignments of 1 to 3 years as required by the business.
