Pentagon Force Protection Agency Physical Security Specialist in Pentagon, Virginia

Summary This position is located in the Security Services Division (SSD), Maintenance and Sustainment Branch (MSB), in the NCR to include but not limited to the Pentagon, Mark Center, Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ), and Raven Rock Mountain Complex (RRMC). Responsibilities Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Develops, manages, and oversees maintenance and sustainment security contracts across the PFPA enterprise that includes: barrier maintenance and sustainment, x-ray maintenance and sustainment, explosive trace detection maintenance and sustainment, and other maintenance and sustainment contracts. The employee is responsible for the implementation of the Preventative Maintenance and Repair Program for vehicle access control points, X-ray detection, and security screening equipment for the Office of the Secretary of War (OSW), Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), and the NCR. Assignments may involve FPCON level changes, special security support missions for Pentagon Police Directorate, Delta Surge requirements and equipment deployment efforts, advanced screening missions (RAMs), additional barrier deployment, ETD, X-ray, and temporary motion sensor deployment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement: One year of experience in the same or similar work equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-11) requiring application of the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the positions being filled. Candidates for this position must clearly demonstrate in their resume that they possess specialized experience in 1) using security equipment in planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures; 2) identifying security deficiencies and corrective actions during inspections and 3) applying security principles and methods to assess data and verify results. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
