W. Roberts Contracting, Inc. is a growing road construction company. We are seeking an experienced Shop Foreman for our local operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintained.
- Coordinate operational equipment and vehicle maintenance.
- Direct and provide daily supervision to shop mechanic, field mechanic, fuel/lube operator and lowboy transport operator.
- Maintain the upkeep and appearance of the shop building and equipment yard.
- Work with field supervisors to ensure accuracy of daily hour meter readings and preventative maintenance reporting.
- Work with Area Manager and other company managers on shop cost, equipment hours and utilization reporting.
- Will schedule, prioritize assignments, and requisition materials and equipment necessary to complete projects timely in cooperation with the Area Manager.
- Responsible for fuel usage reporting, and fuel and lube procurement and inventory management.
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
- Complete projects in accordance with federal, state, and local governing laws, ordinances, and policies
- Ensure safe practices and procedures are followed
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
- Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently
- Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Florida driver's license
- Employer conducts drug screening and background check
