THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking a motivated and experienced Facility Operations Supervisor to join the maintenance team at the South Mountain Restoration Center. In this vital position, you will oversee the operation of multiple maintenance shops, supporting the repair, upkeep, renovation, and construction of facility buildings and equipment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will serve as a working foreman, performing hands-on supervisory duties across general construction and maintenance operations. You will lead maintenance repair staff and laborers in building and grounds work throughout the facility, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high standards. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the maintenance and repair of buildings in carpentry and painting, along with related trades such as masonry, plaster, and drywall. You will coordinate building modifications and improvements as directed, ensure all structures and distribution systems remain in safe, reliable condition, and oversee necessary repairs to maintain a secure environment. In addition, you will provide safety and skills training for trades staff, participate in Department of General Services project meetings, collaborate with contractors on construction projects, and help prepare the facility for Life Safety Code surveys by ensuring all compliance standards are consistently met.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule m ay change based on operational needs.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of skilled trades work experience in commercial, industrial, multi-unit residential facilities, or utility plant operations;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
