THE POSITION

The Department of General Services Energy & Resource Management Office is looking for an addition to their HVAC service dispatching area. This position serves as a critical link between customers, technicians, and management to best serve Commonwealth facilities.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The HVAC Service Dispatcher m onitors building management software systems for alerts and responds according to predesignated decision criteria. In this position, you will also provide administrative and communication support for Commonwealth entities and the Department's work order system, and acknowledge, record and create work orders for alerts received from the building Management systems and facility issues received from capital police, security or other reporting entities.

Other duties include:

  • Maintain a knowledge of the various facilities and maintenance managers and supervisors.

  • Based on the provided decisions criteria will contact the associated manager/supervisor for urgent situations received from reports or system alerts.

  • Prepare and format correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents in draft and final form.

  • Perform a variety of data entry tasks within the work order system to update system status or equipment changes.

  • As directed by a supervisor/manager, manipulate the mechanical system software to support any efforts in the buildings and/or as a result of an alert received in the monitoring software system.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.

  • Shift Work: Available shifts include: 7:00am to 3:00pm, 3:00pm to 11:00pm, and 11:00pm to 7:00am, Sunday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  • ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE – REQUIRED TO REPORT TO WORK DURING EMERGENCIES AND OFFICE CLOSINGS.

  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or

  • Graduation from high school;or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

  • You must have the ability to work shifts: 1st shift (7:00am-3:00pm), 2nd shift (3:00pm to 11:00pm), and 3rd shift (11:00pm-7:00am).

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
