Jobs offered are working on a diversified organic crop farm performing both manual and mechanized tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Workers must be able to perform manual and mechanized tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Prepare fields/soil for planting. Remove cull stock, debris, tree stumps, brush, ferns, vines and other growth from planting area using tractor or hand tools. Plant, cultivate and harvest vegetables using hand tools including, but not limited to: shovels, hoes, hand snips and knives. Plant roots, seeds and bulbs. Spread plastic or other ground-covering. Clean plastic by hand from ground upon removal. Till soil. Weed and thin plants. Transplant plants by hand or using mechanical transplanter. Stake/tie plants, trellis/prune plants, and set poles and wires for vine plants. Pick, cut, lift, or pull crops by hand or using harvesting machine. Tie vegetables in bunches. Grade, size and field pack product. Take care to prevent damaging produce and plants. Apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and other crop protectants. Mix and apply fertilizers, plant growth chemicals, conditioners, and other plant related treatments at the correct times depending on plant type, growth, climate and crop conditions. Cultivate, sort, pack potatoes. Weed fields by hand or with a hoe. Sort potatoes on conveyor belt, removing the damaged potatoes and foreign materials by hand. Maintain clean working environment, shoveling dirt and other debris from work area. Perform manual and machine tasks associated with grain and hay crops production, including but not limited to: disking; aerating; seeding (using mechanical drills and seeders); and stacking hay. Plant, maintain, harvest, husk and pack rice. Plant rice transplants by hand or using transplanter. Harvest with rice harvester into drying bins; husk using rice husker and pack into bags. Plant, cultivate and maintain nursery plants: microgreens. Seed trays. Must understand nursery quality control standards and have working knowledge of production procedures. Must harvest crops according to specific standards. Plant, cultivate, harvest, and pack cut flowers. Work in fields and greenhouses. Move harvested flowers to barn and greenhouse and place flowers into cooler. Pull cut flowers out of cooler, bundle, wrap, and re-pack. Lay fabric.
