Job OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our 1st Acute Med/Surg team on a full-time basis (36 hours). This position involves rotational shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The ideal candidate will hold a valid NYS RN Licensure and possess BLS and ACLS certifications.Responsibilities * Apply nursing knowledge, theory, and technical skills to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to patients and families. * Assess patient needs and develop a personalized plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. * Provide direct patient care, evaluate progress, and coordinate care delivery throughout the patient's episode. * Develop specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring. * Educate patients and families on self-care post-hospitalization, promoting lifestyle changes to support health and healing. * Promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. * Evaluate and adjust care plans based on patient response and changing conditions. * Advocate for and protect the health, safety, and rights of patients. * Engage in quality improvement activities to enhance nursing practice and care delivery. * Motivate and educate patients and families for continued care and healing at home. * Encourage teamwork, mutual trust, and cooperation among team members. * Comply with infection prevention strategies and maintain required competencies. * Report potential safety risks and promote leadership awareness to foster positive change. * Conduct rounds per protocol and use tools to keep patients and families informed and safe.Qualifications * Valid NYS RN Licensure. * BLS and ACLS certifications. * Minimum of one (1) year experience in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse.Skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to assess patient/family needs and develop individualized care plans. * Proficient in using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems. * Skilled in nursing interventions, including medication administration. * Ability to educate and engage patients and families effectively. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to assess patient/family needs and develop individualized care plans. * Proficient in using logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems. * Skilled in nursing interventions, including medication administration. * Ability to educate and engage patients and families effectively.We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, religion, color sex, national origin, citizenship status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, uniform service member status, genetic information, disability, or any other protected status, in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
