DCX-CHOL Enterprises Inc. HR Generalist & Front Office Receptionist (Mon -Thur 6AM-4:30PM) in Pekin, Illinois

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Generalist & Front Office Receptionist, under general supervision, supports day‑to‑day Human Resources operations across multiple functional areas, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training coordination, benefits administration, compliance, HR recordkeeping, and maintaining HR databases and logs. This position also serves as the primary front office receptionist, providing first‑point‑of‑contact support for visitors, employees, and vendors; managing incoming calls; and ensuring professional, efficient front‑desk operations. The role partners closely with supervisors, managers, and employees to ensure consistent application of company policies, supports a productive work environment, and assists in HR initiatives that advance organizational goals. High professionalism, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Front Office Operations

  • Serve as the front office receptionist, greeting and directing visitors, employees, and vendors professionally.

  • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls; manage voicemail and ensure timely follow‑up.

  • Maintain front desk coverage during business hours.

  • Keep the reception area clean, organized, and presentable.

  • Receive, log, and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries.

  • Provide general administrative support to the Pekin facility, including document handling, scheduling assistance, and communication distribution.

Human Resources Support

  • Administer and support HR programs, policies, and procedures across the IL divisions.

  • Assist with recruitment: job postings, screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communication.

  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities.

  • Maintain personnel files with accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.

  • Assist with benefits administration, enrollment, employee changes, and benefits‑related inquiries.

  • Support employee relations by assisting with investigations, documentation, and follow‑up.

  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute HR reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.

  • Track attendance, leave requests, disciplinary actions, and other HR documentation.

  • Participate in training coordination and assist with employee development programs.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.

  • Promote a positive work environment and uphold company values and culture.

  • Partner with payroll to ensure timely and accurate data for processing.

  • Support HR projects including audits, performance review processes, and policy updates.

  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and organized.

  • Enforce DCX‑CHOL Enterprises’ policies and safety practices.

  • Perform other related HR tasks and administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Illinois and federal employment laws.

  • Proficiency in Windows‑based software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization; demonstrates responsibility, follow‑through, and punctuality.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.

  • HR certification (SHRM‑CP, PHR, or equivalent) strongly preferred.

  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively manage the HR work queue.

Work Environment:

This role operates in both a professional office environment and a manufacturing facility.

Physical Demands:

Mobility to move between two facilities (approx. 120 yards) multiple times per day; ability to lift and carry folders; bending, standing, sitting, and computer use as required.

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
