Job Title: HVAC Installer and Electrician

$20 - $40 Based on Experience

Job Description

The Electrician and HVAC installer supports the installation of electrical equipment, HVAC components on new residential and commercial construction sites throughout the Kansas City area. This role leads layout and rough-in work, directs other electricians on tasks, and ensures that all electrical installations follow plans, schematics, and safety standards while coordinating closely with project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the installation of electrical equipment, HVAC components, and components on new residential and commercial ground-up construction projects in the Kansas City area.

  • Lay out electrical and HVAC jobs based on blueprints and schematics and clearly instruct other electricians on required tasks.

  • Perform rough-in electrical work on new homes and commercial buildings, including wiring, device placement, and panel preparation.

  • Install, bend, and run conduit and pull wire for a variety of electrical systems, including power, lighting, and low-voltage circuits.

  • Install and wire lighting fixtures, switches, electrical panels, and related components according to plans and code requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to plan work, identify material needs, and ensure accurate installation.

  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and circuits to identify issues and implement effective repairs or adjustments.

  • Coordinate daily work with project managers, superintendents, and journeyman electricians to meet schedules and project milestones.

  • Ensure that all work complies with safety regulations and company standards, including adherence to OSHA 10 guidelines.

  • Support a clean, organized, and safe job site while working both indoors and outdoors in active construction environments.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5 years of electrician, HVAC experience in new build, ground-up construction settings.

  • Strong experience with both residential and commercial installations.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • Demonstrated ability to lay out electrical jobs.

  • Skilled in bending conduit and running wire for various electrical systems.

  • Hands-on experience with rough-in electrical work on new homes and commercial buildings.

  • Proficiency with Romex installation in residential applications.

  • Experience installing and working with lighting, switches, and electrical panels.

  • Ability to run conduit, pull wire, and support low-voltage installations.

  • Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving electrical issues.

  • Ability to work effectively under the direction of project managers, superintendents, journeyman, and foreman electricians.

  • OSHA 10 certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working on a variety of residential and commercial new build projects.

  • Comfort working from construction drawings and coordinating with broader construction teams.

  • Strong communication skills to clearly direct and coordinate work with other electricians.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to safe, code-compliant electrical installations.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and job site conditions in a fast-paced construction environment.

Work Environment

Work takes place on active residential and commercial new build job sites across the Kansas City area. You work both indoors and outdoors in typical construction environments, which may include varying weather conditions and exposure to ongoing trades activity. The standard schedule is a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime as project needs arise. You regularly use standard electrical tools and equipment, read blueprints and schematics, and coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other field personnel on site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peculiar, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $40.00/hr.
