Actalent Medical Assistant in Pearland, Texas

Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Back Office Medical Assistant with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in rooming patients, preparing them for their visit with the physician, and assisting them with follow-up steps. Proficiency in utilizing EMR systems is essential, with Athena experience being preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and prepare them for their visit with the physician.

  • Assist patients with follow-up steps and provide necessary guidance.

  • Utilize the EMR system effectively, with a preference for Athena experience.

  • Schedule appointments and manage patient scheduling efficiently.

  • Provide administrative support and medical reception duties.

  • Ensure excellent customer service at the front desk.

  • Handle medical scheduling and patient access tasks.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

  • Experience in a surgical specialty or family medicine.

  • Proficiency in EMR systems, with Athena experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology.

  • Bilingual skills in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Mandarin are helpful.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Experience in appointment scheduling and administrative support.

Work Environment

The position is based at the Pearland Home clinic with one day of travel to Kingwood on Mondays, for which mileage will be reimbursed. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. After a two-week training period, the role requires working independently.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Pearland, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
